Human Development Index
HDI ( Human Development Index) is a tool developed by the United Nations to measure and rank countries' levels of social and economic development based on four criteria:
1. Life expectancy at birth - indicates the number of years a newborn infant would live if prevailing patterns of mortality at the time of its birth were to stay the same throughout its life.
2. Mean years at schooling - Average numbers of years of education received by people ages 25 and older, converted from education attainment levels using official durations of each level.
3. Expected Years of Schooling - Number of years of schooling that a child of school entrance age can expect to receive if prevailing patterns of age-specific enrolment rates persist throughout life disaggregated by sex.
4. Gross national income per capita - Per capita income, also known as income per person, is the mean income of the people in an economic unit such as a country or city.
